CASE FILE: THE MESSAGE THAT COULD COST YOU

Story

Aarav is a college student who regularly uses the same email account for college communication, online learning platforms, and a few personal services. He usually signs in from his laptop and mobile phone. One morning, Aarav receives an email saying that his account password was changed successfully. He does not remember changing it. When he opens his account’s security page, he notices several recent login events that he does not recognise. The login history shows access from unfamiliar devices and locations. Aarav also remembers that he has used the same password on more than one website. He is now worried that someone may have obtained his password and accessed his account. Before taking any action, Aarav reviews the available login information and compares it with the devices and locations he normally uses.
